Pokemon: Forever Young... and Alone

Doesn't it seem like this is true?

Like Ash never ages through the years of his life and he just hops around from girl to girl? Come on people; the show isn't horribly bad, but you've got to admit that's pretty legit when it comes down to the structure of the cartoon.

Capcom Classico

Upon the arrival of our BRAND NEW TV, my dad introduced us to Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded  on the Playstation 2. All of these games from Capcom came out around the '80s, and the graphics aren't half bad. 1943 (the Battle of Midway) we used to have on our old computer, but it broke or something. It really brings back memories seeing it on an HD screen. Last night I played it so much I was seeing teeny gunfires and explosions and Powerups whenever I closed my eyes.  There's something strangely addicting about pixelated airplane games.

A screenshot from the game.

Well, that just goes to show what a sucker for old-style stuff I am. If you ever see this arcade game, pop a quarter in and try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Well, I'm done with my independant reading goal and progress report...

so it's off to blogging I go! Do you have any homework relief?

New TV

My dad came home the other day with a new LCD HD ACL XYZ TV!

Ain't it grand?

The picture quality is exceptional compared to the previous one we had, and a big plus is: the movies on ABC Family actually FIT on our screen!! HURRAY!

Chirp Report: Bu3

Chirrup!!

Chubby Chirp status: Bu3. That's "Bu" for "Butt" and "3" for "Row 3." Row 4 to come soon. Wish m'luck and hope to join my crafty journey!

Weird Week

This week is full of weirdly-scheduled days: today was a 2-hour-late-start day because of snow in the mountains; tomorrow is a normal-start, early-release Wednesday (opposed to the normal late-start, late-release); and Friday is normal start, even earlier release day for the All-School-Write.

Know what that is? It's where we come to school and just write for three hours straight in first period. I sit at the very back of the room and next to a guy from "a different crowd." It's gonna stink- last All-School-Write the topic was uber boring. *sigh* Wish me luck; my grade didn't fare well last 'Write.

Every Day I'm Pufflin!

Isn't this just precious?

PUFFIN!
image obtained from:http://iseeahappyface.com/upload/erry-day-im-puffilin830.jpg

I got it offa the interwebs. It's just so cute and clever! I've been seeing these meme-y things all over the web, somehow relating to really popular songs. I'm sure you can guess what this one is; it's been on the top of the charts for weeks.

Who knew puffins could shuffle? *wink*

Category Z

Notice the new category on the side panel? It's simply called "Z"

My list of categories is by default alphabetical, and with my lame tech skills, I don't know how to change that. Like, I searched "Options" on the labels gadget and EVERYTHING! I want a "Misc." catagory, however, but it'd be kinda stupid to have a "Misc." category obscured amongst other, more important categories. I'd imagine that "Misc." or "Other" or "Stuff that nobody really cares about but then again nobody cares about any of the stuff I have to say but this is the category when I have something to say and it doesn't fit in any other category" category.

So I just made it Z. Enjoy.

Dead bird

CHIRRP!!!!

So guys, you know that Chubby Chirp project I was telling you about? Yeah, well, it turns out I was doing it wrong. So now I have to scrap the butt of the poor little guy so I can knit dpn-style. Whatta bummer.

That's life for ya. But, I can at least say I've learned how to knit dpn in record time! Little chicky, here I come!!

Da Creepa!

I am typing this as my creepy younger brother sits next to me and watches my every move. Like a crocodile stalking a frog. Like a cougar stalking a deer. Like a shark stalking a drowning fisherman. Like a Sidley stalking an ice-cream cone.

Now he's murmuring to himself. Like a crazy old man at Target trying to decide what rash medication to buy. Like a little girl trying to pick one piece of candy out of the entire display. Like a bear snarling and mutilating a fish.

Moo! Moo, I say, moo!
Poor fishy...
Obviously, he's watching very, very closely. Because he asked me why bears go moo. Dear sweet golly help us; we definitely know who's going to be running the family once we all grow up.

Good Week

Whew! Okay, so I finished my Cultural event (three hours of my life), my socratic seminar prep sheet (another three hours of my life), and sleeping (another three hours of my life). I am FINALLY done with all my major homework this week and I can just kick back and hope that my teachers don't assign any more!

Who agrees that teachers put too many big assignments and tests in the same week?

Anyone? Any takers?

No?

Okay, well, see you around, anyway!

Underground Tour

Have you been to Bill Speidel's Underground Tour of Seattle? If you haven't, I highly recommend it. Especially if you like dingy, dark, drippy, stinky secret underground tunnels. The Underground was made when Seattle elevated its streets and buildings to stop the tide from sweeping in after the great fire, except they didn't elevate the sidewalks. Rather, after everything else was elevated, they just paved over the old sidewalks to bring them up to higher level. The higher level is what we see today, however the creepy underground tunnels still exist and that's what the tour is about: exploring antique, smelly tunnels! Plus if you don't like the idea of several cars and people tromping above head, a few blocks away is the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, which has really yummy fancy chocolate and a good deal on ice-cream: $3 for a really big scoop of ice cream and $4 for two. (But a warning: if you don't like your salty with your sweet, don't get the sea-salted caramel. If you do fancy that, you'll love it.) I like the Madagascar Vanilla best, but the chocolate was also good. Hope you go check things out!

Happy Leap Day!

So today was that magical extra day of February that keeps the calender working juuuuust right. Hope you guys had fun! I had a good day yesterday because it was Late-Start Wednesday! Who agrees that Late-Start Wednesday is always a magical day? Huh? Any takers?

I leave you now with this awesome moon pic:
(last night was a half-moon, however, I believe...)

Sorry, I'm a fail at Photoshop; I could never make something as intricate like this.

Enjoy!
